The Glendessary jam started in 1988 on Glendessary Lane, the home of Tony and Rachel Johansen. Two rules were strictly adhered to which we continue to this day. We never practice and never know what we were going to play next. As time went on, we started playing for various events and fundraisers in the Santa Barbara area. With our increasing presence in the community, people would ask us what we were called and thus was born, Glendessary Jam. Daylight Savings time finds us in the middle of Alice Keck Park every Wednesday evening starting at 5:30 PM, and Standard Time up at Glendessary Lane, inside for the winter. We have changed personnel often, some folks coming and going with some regularity. Any attrition can best be described as a mysterious disappearance. But we remain true to the Old Time Musical tradition, of friendliness and up-beat music to soothe the tattered nerves of the 21st century.

So this easy going, laid back group goes on. People keep coming back year after year. And as for the music: It’s the same, but different!
